Czech Republic Flags
The Flag of the Czech Republic was adopted on January 1, 1993.The Flag for Czech Republic has two equal horizontal bands of white top and red with a blue isosceles triangle based on the hoist side. The red color symbolizes the courage and hardiness. The white color represent peace and honesty. The blue colored isosceles triangle represent truth, justice and loyalty. The flag has a width-to-length proportion ratio of 2:3.After the First World War, the state of Czechoslovakia was formed. The first Czech Republic Flag was white over red, and rest colors are the heraldic colors of Bohemia Kingdom. The blue triangle was further to the flag by the government in 1920, in an effort to differentiate it from the Poland flag. The blue color of the flag represent the State of Moravia. During the Second World War, the adaptation of this flag was obsolete and during the Nazi rule, the flag was banned. After the Second World War, Czechoslovakia continued the use of this flag until 1993. When the state of Czechoslovakia was dissolved into the sovereign nations of Czech Republic and Slovakia, the government of Czech Republic adapted flag of Czechoslovakia for the new country.
